Jay Duggan
Jay has had a love of music ever since he can remember, having been surrounded by music of all varieties throughout his childhood. He marks his particular love of dance music as having begun around the time he started high school and, like many other people at the time, began to gain access to the genre through MusicTelevision channels.
French House was the first specific sub-genre of dance music he remembers being into and Jay still sites one of his favourite dance records of all-time as a 1999 release, Cassius – Feelings For You. His interest in French House was what lead him to delve further into the history of dance music, discovering the music of the late 80’s/early 90’s and looking even further back into the disco era.
Having spent years wanting to get into DJing but never having the money to make it possible Jay finally decided to sacrifice other pursuits in late 2007 and purchased his first set of decks. The decision came after a particularly memorable year of clubbing and festival-going with Jay making his first ventures up to the big clubs in London. Since then Jay has relocated from Essex to London to concentrate on work and music and has discovered the type of music he now conciders his passion…………..Techno!
Jay has played at number of different Chelmsford and London based promotions in the last year or so and was one of the main organisers behind the highly successful Dubtech event. As much as he enjoyed the promotional side of things you’re likely to find him sticking to what he knows best for the time being, and that’s mixing!
