Jp (aka. John Penn) is a Chelmsford/London based DJ from the U.K. John came from a band based background touring with several bands and involved with hip hop, R&B, indie and metal. He began mixing in early 2007 playing electro with and old school friend Ro soon after being introduced to the underground dance sceene in London. After only a few weeks of mixing confidently JP started mixing at house parties and other such events. In July 2007 Jp played his first local set at The Fleece, Chelmsford where he soon became resident DJ on various nights. In early 2008 JP began DJ’ing around all over Essex and London in mixing alongside the likes Busy P, Brandon Block, Hannah Holland, Herve, Squarepusher, DJ Mehdi. After living in Ibiza in the summer 2008 JP sounds found his love for techno and tech house which can be heard throughout his live sets. JP’s sets are full of energy and excitement, with hard baselines and amazing tunes he is defiantly a DJ not to be missed!
